Why won't my TV turn on?

Why does my TV have sound but no picture?
Sound with no picture usually points to a failed backlight, a faulty T-CON board, or a damaged display panel. Backlight and board faults are repairable at reasonable cost; a cracked or fully dead panel is often not worth repairing — a technician can tell you which it is after a free diagnosis.
Why are there lines on my TV screen?
Horizontal or vertical lines usually come from a damaged T-CON board, a loose ribbon cable connection, or panel damage from a knock or pressure. A technician can open the back cover to check connections before concluding the panel itself is damaged.
Why is half my TV screen dark or dim?
